Recently, a friend of mine sent me some money as a present and he sent the same through WU. At first, I thought that all this 'fast service' was more of a joke than anything else. Anyway, I went to the nearest Western Union office and was very pleasantly surprised when I was able to take delivery of the payment without any hassle whatsoever.
The recent move by Western Union to open shop 24*7 in all four major metros all over India has helped a long way in dealing with this problem of money delivery. Normally, one would have to go to the bank to take delivery of one's payment but with all banks having a strict timeline in which to do business, it is not often that one can take delivery of such payment after working hours. But thanks to Western Union, even that is taken care of with their offices being open 24*7. So, if it is 10 pm and you want to take delivery of a Western Union payment after working hours, well, that is no problem at all, as long as you are in one of the 4 major metros in India!

Fed forecasts a gloomy year ahead!

Well the markets were waiting for the Fed minutes and they are out now, the Fed forecasts a gloomy period ahead and with the unemployment bound to shoot up in the first quarter of the next year. This is not exactly an unexpected news but everyone were hoping that the Fed would do a magicians trick and wave its wand and make the whole Subprime and Housing disaster go away!
That is easier said than done, it is not all gloomy with the consumer index showing some signs of life. But come on, with such huge crisis like the Subprime and the Housing markets, there is bound to be some sort of a long term impact on the economy as a whole. It is going to be a tough road to walk on for the next few quarters and there is no going around this, this is one road that we all have to just grit our teeth and walk. After all, it is only when the things start getting tough, the tough starts going, so lets do that.

Reliance wants to go Mooooo!

Well after the fresh farm products i guess it is the turn of the cows to say 'Mooo' for RIL.RIL is firming up plans for entering the dairy business and is busy undertaking measures for that.well,i wonder what Amul,India's premier dairy products company is going to make of this.Amul has come under complaints for not supplying dairy products correctly to all sectors of the country.would RIL take advantage of this?knowing the way that RIL does business i would say'YES'!
Punjab is in the headlights of the RIL money machine.in all probability RIL would be setting up the business over there.but the key question of supply versus demand still remains.how would RIL overcome this?lets take a 'wait and see' attitude on this.but, people whatever the cows may say,one thing is for sure,RIL is on the march,so watch out AMUL!
