Going,going...gone!

At last the World Bank can rest easy with Wolfowitz tendering his resignation in what has been one rollercoaster season of sorts for the bank.this one man has managed to bring scandal and shame to a prestigious institution like the World Bank itself.i honestly think that it will take quite some time for the World Bank to recover its image of integrity.the facts are that the head of the World Bank had behaved in quite an underhanded fashion,very unbecoming for any banker and to make matters worse had tried to cover up and at the same time palm off the mess onto his assistants.his response for 'why he did that' was that no one at the bank had informed him that it was quite unethical to promote one's girlfriend way beyond her qualifications and to get her an enormous hike in salary at the same time.
what did he think 'unthical' meant?and when asked to resign,he refused to do so at first.naturally all the World Bank employees were miffed at the whole scenario and they were threatening to strike,a first of sorts for the Bank itself.finally Wolfowitz has agreed to resign with a 'fair' report on his performance.but i do have to say that going by what he did at the World Bank,any organisation especially banks should steer clear of "the wolf in the sheep's clothing"

the bell tolls for "wolf"

Well to follow up from where we left off the last time,the investigating committee found that Paul Wolfowitz was indeed guilty of breaching the rules of conduct of the World Bank and that he had infact acted against the established rules for his own gain.the directors agreed with this view and have labelled the wolf's behaviour as "unethical".
the worst that can be called of a banker is the "unethical" label.which means to not put too fine a point,paul can no longer be trusted as a banker leave alone as the head of one.whats more,this view would also be sent to the governers.Paul,can you hear it?the bell's tolling and it is tolling hard.maybe it is the time for you to quit rather than be fired and take some time off for introspection!

"wolfie" being caught in more lies??

Paul wolfowitz is finding that as more and more of his lies are being caught out,the expresion "from the pan to the fire",being much more appropriate to this situation with the IMF and the World Bank.Venezuala resigning from these boards really did not help matters and if any only managed to notch up the tension much more.
the IMF and the World Bank are finding themselves in a situation they cannot come to understand.for one their credibility has hit a new low and if other countries folowwed venezuala's action soon the IMF as well as the World Bank may fiond themselves without any members!
Paul should not resign but instead should be "fired".that is clear,for he has indeed made a mash of the words "ethics" and whats more has compromised the integrity of the World Bank as well as that of the IMF!

The dollar man!

Well it seems that the Top money man in the IMF has been caught with his hand in the cookie jar.But the irony is that he was not getting the cookie for himself but for his girlfriend who had been giving him the works.be what it may after the NASA episode of office romance this is the second time that an americna has bought to fore the dangers of office romance.
To put it bluntly,mr Paul Wolfowitz,the apointee by president Bush as the head of the IMF,has not only got a cushy promotion for his girlfriend but got her a nice,well,extremely high salary as well.
This does nto augur well at all for an international body like the IMF to be dragged through slime like this.whats more,mr Paul Wolfowitz certainly has to go.IMF is not NASA for such matters to be brushed over.
And sadly for mr Paul Wolfowitz,storm clouds are gathering.back home,although the government seems to be standing behind mr Paul Wolfowitz,off the record,they are reported to be extremely furious with him.and thats not all,the IMF employees are not taking this promotion of the lover very lightly either and are threating a strike.it seems they all want to be considered as mr Paul Wolfowitz's lovers and want to be given the same treatment.can't say that i blame them,would you?
