With the subprime mortages tidal wave at last relenting most of the banks and financial institutions at last began to regain their confidence.some of the European banks were the worst hit in the credit crisis but even they are going about business as usual.the reason for this 'happy to be okay' mood is the surety that the U.S Fed will cut rates and soon at that.this was only a rumor to begin with but with weak U.S fiscal data,this is becoming more and more of a surety.
Of course as a result to the last turmoil,banks are no longer willing to help those who cannot repay.that is the bitter truth that has come out of all this.there will no longer be a 'come one,come all,take the money' policy of any bank as regards the credit issue even amongst themselves.the credit policies of various banks and central banks are being streamlined even as i post this.but come on,that is only to be expected.this credit policy would in all reality stay around for some time to come.there is indeed a liquidity crunch going on,all that matters is whether you are an orange or a lemon or just plain old sour grapes!

Small traders vs the Farmers!

Of late the retail sector in India has been getting a lot of attention of the good and the bad kind.Reliance inc had decided to open up a lot of supermarkets all over India called 'fresh'.but this obviously did not set well with the small traders who wanted such shops closed because they feared that it will run them out of business.anyway they agitated and destroyed some property belonging to Reliance which is when the UP government decided to step in and ban such reliance shops altogether.now the whole controversy has snowballed with Reliance deciding to shut all such shops all across northern and eastern India.needless to say this has left the hard working farmers dry.so this time around they started agitating against the governments move and have made it clear that they want the reliance shops back as they were providing them with a much much better source of livelihood.so the government is caught in a fix,will it take the farmers side or the small traders side?since the farmers are many,my guess is that it will be the farmers who will have the final say on the matter,especially as they form a major part of the vote bank and with elections on the way... you know ho it goes!

Well,we have all heard of the Formula one,well,the latest news on that is that it has gone partly Indian.India with a very strong resurgent economy that is growing by bounds and leaps was only missing this among the others.that is no longer true.the Beer baron of India,Vijay mallaya has made a joint bid for the Formula one team along with Spyker's director of Formula One, Michiel Mol,for 80 million euro.a newly formed consortium of sorts called Orange India will be taking over soon.with such news like this,will it be any wonder if more racy news enters the Indian mindset??
