India close to FTA with ASEAN!

India is very close to signing up a FTA with ASEAN.and if this goes through then that means that India will be able to flex a much larger trade clout.basically this trade if it gets finalised by sep-dec of this year could herald a new era in the age of the Indian tiger!
Indian exports to ASEAN could reach $22 billion by 2012, if the agreement was signed in November.with such large exports to ASEAN,it is naturally in India's interest that this deal goes through.of course the United States may see this as an evidence if India becoming closer with ASEAN and it may not go well with them.but hey,in the end,if both India and the ASEAN are happy that is all that counts,is it not?
