Global warming-cold economy!

It may seem that the global economy may head for a big chill as a result of global warming.lets say that global warming wrecks havoc on earth and that the oceans do rise and that the low lying areas of land are flooded.what could this mean for globnal economy?
for any country that is affected,the least it would mean is more pressure on its economy as a result of loss of infrastructure,loss of lives,loss of arable land,delay,and more to come.actually the costs of the global warming has only been estimated at and that too it is on the low side.no one until noe has actually sat down,computated the effects of global warming,and the cross effects on all species,man and animal as well as the effect on all flora and fauna.once one has done that then estimating the costs of global warming could be done.but irrespective of whether that estimation is done or not,the effects of global warming is already being felt in many parts of the world vis-a-vis freak weather and it is irreversible.
the more business develops the more fossil fuel emmision increases and the global warming increases tenfold.so it is safe to say that,yes,the economy will indeed head for a big chill at this rate until some affirmative action is taken to deal with the fossil fuel emmision!

Reliance fresh goes "sour"

The reliance fresh shops or should i say reliance supermarkets got a rousing welcome that they are going to remember for a long time to come.the traders and the local middle men,all gathered together and armend with sticks and stones,started attacking the reliance shops at Ranchi.according to the traders thier reaction was more out of fear than anything else.they are afraid that the big giant corporate's foray into small business areas like "fresh vegetables and meat and dairy products" will cause them to lose thier livelihoods.
for many people in the United States,this scene may be familiar with many dad and mom shops rebelling against the ever prevading presence of the giants like the "Walmart".and ironically,Walmart is facing opposition here in India as well.the dad and mom traders are already finding it hard to compete with local supermarket chains like the "foodworld","vitan" and "reliance" and now throw in "Walmart" and the situation gets even more strenous for the small traders.the traders are already under an enormous pressure and the opening of the reliance shops may have just been the last straw that broke the traders back!

Well to follow up from where we left off the last time,the investigating committee found that Paul Wolfowitz was indeed guilty of breaching the rules of conduct of the World Bank and that he had infact acted against the established rules for his own gain.the directors agreed with this view and have labelled the wolf's behaviour as "unethical".
the worst that can be called of a banker is the "unethical" label.which means to not put too fine a point,paul can no longer be trusted as a banker leave alone as the head of one.whats more,this view would also be sent to the governers.Paul,can you hear it?the bell's tolling and it is tolling hard.maybe it is the time for you to quit rather than be fired and take some time off for introspection!

Will a common currency for asia become a reality?

We all know how the Euro was touted to the public before all the numerous problems cropped up.of course if there was a common currency for the whole of asia,lets call it the "rupee" since most of the aisan countries use one forem of rupee or the other,the consequences of that are to put it simply "earth shattering".
for one if that dream became a reality,half of the worlds population will be represented by a single currency.they will be the most powerful economic powerhouse that this world would have ever seen.and lets not forget that the developing naiotns that comprise asia are all registering huge growth figures not just for one year but year after year.such growth has not been seen either by the europeans or the americans.
the U.S would definitely not want this dream to become a reality but unfortunately for the americans most of the asian nations are slowly but surely realising this dream.it will probably start with a free trade area pact,a huge one,the likes of which has not been seen until now.that done,the next logical step will be a merger of currencies,if that happens,in all reality it would be called the "rupee".but lets face reality,the asian nations have all warred amongst themselves until recently and some of them still carry that resentment.most of this hidden resentment is aimed at the japanese.but these nations like china,korea,phillipines etc must realise that the war was over a long time ago anhd it is indeed time to carve out a new future.
that said,it is high time that they started considering a free trade pace seriously.
China and Japan would probably have to start this off.and i am sure that Russia would also want to be considered a part of asia and would want a piece of the pie if for nothing else other than tho thumb nose at the americans!
such policy decisions would take brave initiatives on the part of all the major asian countries namely India,China,Japan,Russia[if it wants to be part of this] and Korea.australia may choose to be out of this but if this dream were to come about and thy choose to do so,they will be the losers.furthermore a policy decision on the part of India,Russia and China is worrying the U.S to no end.that is the establishment althoough an informal "TRIAD".has the next super bloc been formed?
well all of the above are just surmises,guesses and random thoughts.but so often the rumors become a reality.after all "truth is indeed stranger than ficiton",is it not?
the fact remains that India,China,Japan and Russia are determined to establish a uni polar world.to what lengths will they go to accomplish this?

Paul wolfowitz is finding that as more and more of his lies are being caught out,the expresion "from the pan to the fire",being much more appropriate to this situation with the IMF and the World Bank.Venezuala resigning from these boards really did not help matters and if any only managed to notch up the tension much more.
the IMF and the World Bank are finding themselves in a situation they cannot come to understand.for one their credibility has hit a new low and if other countries folowwed venezuala's action soon the IMF as well as the World Bank may fiond themselves without any members!
Paul should not resign but instead should be "fired".that is clear,for he has indeed made a mash of the words "ethics" and whats more has compromised the integrity of the World Bank as well as that of the IMF!

A puny shot for climate change!

Japan has vowed 100 million to fight climate change which is more than what the other countries are doing.but the question is "is this enough?".the answer of sourse,is that "it is not enough,not even close!"
climate change or rather the effects of it on our climate has progressed to the level that we have a big hole in the ozone layer around Earth.so this 100 million will in no way be anywhere near enough to stem it.lets not forget that Japan is a very tiny nation which does not contribute that much by way of harmful greenhouse gases.and inspite of not being a major contributor to this problem they have contributed 100 million to fight it.we should all applaud what Japan has done.one can only hope that the major contributor of the greenhouse gases,the United States wil either match the 100 million dollar fund or at the least top it.
one should also remember that money alone will not solve this problem but rather one should take the required action on the gorund which will invlove cutting down on the greenhouse emmissions by at least a huge margin to start off with and then totalll minimalising them altogether.this will take resolve and ladies and gentlemen,the fight for our planet has began with Japan firing the first salvo!

Time to get going paulie!

Finally the IMF board have hinted that they are going to find against paul wolfowitz.maybe at last the integrity of such an austere board as the IMF can be maintained inspite of paulie playing the wolf in the hen pen.it is indeed time for paul to say goodbye.even if he had not done anything wrong in the eyes of the common man he is guilty of carrying out an affair and then trying to cover it up.
of course we are not saying that paul is guilty but as any bankers know,bankers in general,must be above reproach in all matters especially when they are holding the high office in a body as the IMF.where will paul go to from here?maybe he will take the clinton lesson and say that it was not his fault and it was all a big conspiracy.check out the link.either way ,he may also write a bio of his time in the IMF.the tale of "sex,lies and bank strikes".Paul we shall indeed miss you for you made a boring institution like the IMF seem a lot more intresting!
