The offshore banking!

I often find it difficult to trust the Banks that are already here.but to put all my money in an offshore account just so that i can get away without having to pay any taxes,well,i think that would be a case of taking the trust a bit too far. of course,since i do not have oddles of money stashed away,i guess i can talk like this.but in the end,it is all in the eye of the beholder,is it not?
after all,what is there to stop the overseas bank from running away with your cash??
